AFRICA'S SOVEREIGNCLOUD COMPANY
Helping enterprises and governments across Southern and Sub-Saharan Africa understand, evaluate, and transition to sovereign cloud infrastructure built on the Internet Computer.
What We Do
Built for Africa's Digital Sovereignty Imperative.
Most African enterprises and government organisations store their data and run their systems on American cloud infrastructure — AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud. That infrastructure is subject to US law, the CLOUD Act, and geopolitical risk. It can be accessed by foreign governments. It can be sanctioned. It can go down. And as we are seeing daily, it gets hacked.
The Internet Computer is a different kind of cloud. Applications and data that run on it are tamperproof — nobody can alter them without authorisation. They are sovereign — they run under the governance of the network itself, not under any single company or government. And they are unstoppable — there is no single server to shut down or hack.
Canister Corp is the South African company that helps enterprises understand this technology, evaluate whether it is right for their specific needs, and begin the journey toward sovereign cloud infrastructure.
This website was built on Caffeine and runs on the Internet Computer. Tamperproof. Unstoppable. Sovereign.

The Problem We Solve
The Stakes Have Never Been Higher
Data Sovereignty
African enterprises are routinely forced to store sensitive data on servers located in foreign jurisdictions. This creates legal exposure, compliance risk, and strategic vulnerability that no organisation should accept in 2026.

Traditional cloud architecture has single points of failure that bad actors can exploit. The ICP's decentralised design eliminates these attack vectors by ensuring no single node or entity can compromise the system.
Start a ConversationAI Infrastructure
The next frontier of enterprise competitiveness is AI — and the organisations that control their AI infrastructure will define the next decade. Canister Corp positions African enterprises at the frontier of sovereign AI infrastructure.

How Canister Corp Works With You
Sovereign Cloud Consulting
An enterprise comes to us with a challenge. Maybe it is POPIA compliance and they are worried about data residency. Maybe it is cybersecurity after a breach or a near miss. Maybe it is AI adoption and they need infrastructure they can trust for autonomous systems. Maybe it is simply a CTO who has heard about the Internet Computer and wants someone who understands it to explain what it means for their organisation.
We assess their current situation. We identify their sovereignty and compliance exposure. We explain what the Internet Computer offers specifically for their context. We develop a roadmap for how they could begin transitioning specific workloads to sovereign cloud infrastructure.
This is pure consulting. No hardware. No deployment. Just expertise and strategy.
ICP Ecosystem Facilitation
We are the bridge between South African enterprise clients and the global ICP ecosystem. We translate between the enterprise world and the ICP world — helping organisations find the right builders, protocols, and partners for their specific requirements.
Market Education & Thought Leadership
Most South African enterprises have never heard of the Internet Computer. Part of what Canister Corp does is simply educate the market. Executive briefings. Workshops. Articles. Speaking at technology conferences. Helping South African business and government leaders understand what sovereign cloud is, why it matters in the current geopolitical environment, and what their options are.
What We Are Not
Canister Corp is not a software development company. We do not build applications for clients on ICP. We are not a node provider. We do not offer managed cloud services or hosting. We are a sovereign cloud strategy and market development consultancy — a specific and defensible position that matches exactly what we can deliver.
Where We Are Going
Our Roadmap
Phase 01
2025 — 2026Market Education & Advisory
Canister Corp's immediate focus is on establishing itself as the leading sovereign cloud advisory firm in Southern and Sub-Saharan Africa. This phase is defined by deep client engagements, thought leadership, and building the awareness infrastructure that enterprise and government decision-makers need to evaluate the Internet Computer as a credible alternative to foreign-jurisdiced cloud.
Phase 02
2027 and beyondInfrastructure Participation
As the Internet Computer's cloud engine market matures and enterprise adoption grows, we intend to be not just advisors to that transition but infrastructure operators within it. We are positioning Canister Corp to become one of Africa's first cloud engine association operators — bringing sovereign decentralised compute infrastructure to the continent on its own terms.
This is a multi-year journey. We are at the beginning of it. And we are building every step with the same integrity and long-term conviction that brought us here.
Founder
Sinakho Zama
I am a South African enterprise technology professional with four years of B2B sales experience across the EMEA region, helping organisations navigate complex technology decisions and adopt solutions that solve real business problems. I have worked across mid-market and enterprise accounts, giving me a clear understanding of how organisations at every level evaluate, procure, and commit to new technology.
I have been an active participant in the Internet Computer ecosystem since the early days of Caffeine, building applications on the platform and participating in network governance through the Network Nervous System.
I founded Canister Corp because I believe South Africa's digital future cannot be built on infrastructure controlled by foreign jurisdictions. The continent deserves sovereign, tamperproof cloud infrastructure that serves African interests and the Internet Computer is the platform that makes that possible.
Canister Corp is my commitment to ensuring that African enterprises and governments have access to the expertise they need to make that transition.
Let's Build Africa's Sovereign Future.
